Dick Clark passed away today. May he rest in peace.
In my youth, Dick’s TV show, American Bandstand, was his stage and, ultimately, his legacy.
In advertising, my mentor was Dick Golden. This brilliant, creative, unforgettable powerhouse, whom I met at age 22 was once 22 himself. He had a job as a cameraman on American Bandstand.
Dick Golden has also passed away, a few years ago, and I miss him greatly.
In remembering both of these men on this day, I finally realize: We will not meet their like again.
